Lego’s Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

At Lego’s Childcare, the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person is our top priority. We are dedicated to providing environments where children and young people feel safe, respected, heard, and supported to reach their full potential.

Our Commitment

  • We implement the 10 Child Safe Standards across all areas of our organisation.

  • We prioritise the best interests of children and young people in all decisions and actions.

  • We listen to, value, and ensure the voices of children and young people are heard, alongside those of families and communities.

  • We maintain an inclusive, equitable, and culturally safe environment for all children and young people, and actively engage them in decisions that impact them.

  • We foster a child safe workplace culture, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse or any other misconduct towards children and young people.

  • We embrace diversity and promote cultural safety, with a strong focus on supporting First Nations children, children with disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

  • We actively prevent, recognise, and respond to all forms of abuse, neglect, or harm.

  • We ensure all staff and volunteers are carefully screened, trained, and supported to maintain the highest standards of child safety.

  • We provide clear, safe, and accessible processes for raising concerns, feedback, or complaints so everyone feels heard and supported.

  • We continually review and improve our practices to uphold the highest levels of child protection.

What This Means in Practice

  • Child safety is a shared responsibility led by our Board, leadership team, and staff at every level.

  • We maintain strong systems for risk management, incident response, and mandatory reporting.

  • We create safe and supportive environments across all settings, both physical and online.

  • We work in partnership with families, communities, Elders, and cultural advisors to strengthen safety, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring children and young people feel heard.

  • Our educators have the skills, knowledge, and training to be child safe and apply child safe practices in their everyday work.

  • We protect confidential information about children and young people through fit-for-purpose data systems and record-keeping processes, and actively identify and remove any child safety system risks.

  • We report any suspected abuse, neglect, or mistreatment promptly to the appropriate authorities, including fulfilling our responsibilities for mandatory reporting.
